"Humanity will be saved through the flower." Huvenol, Mayan elder, quoting a Mayan prophecy

Plant Medicine affects the brain/emotional body, the physical body, and the spiritual etheric body.  Mind, Body, Spirit.

Plant Medicine includes the use of Herbs/Spices, Essential Oils, Incense, Aromatherapy, Natural unadulterated Plant Based Foods. Medicinal plants and herbs have been discovered to have been used historically for thousands of years.  The earliest historical records of herbs are found from Sumerian civilizations where hundreds of medicinal plants were found listed on clay tablets.  The Ebers Papyrus from ancient Egypt lists over 850 plant medicines.  Ayurvedic Medicine, Chinese pharmacopoeias, and 1st century Greek physician Dioscorides De material media formed the basis of modern pharmacopoeias.

The nature of the use of plant medicine changed in the 19th century with the application of chemical analysis.  Individual medicinal components of plants were being targeted and isolated for their medicinal uses.   The process of synthesis with medicinal plants in a pharmacological lab first began with salicylic acid, the important pain relieving, anti inflammatory ingredient in what we call aspirin.  The plant? Wintergreen

The chemical constituencies of essential oil compounds found in plants have unique structures that affect and influence the body to support a natural healing process.  They support our bodies innate ability to heal itself.  Think of how your body naturally heals itself when you bruise or have a cut/wound.  Your body naturally knows what to do to flush toxins out and scab over skin to begin regenerating new skin.  If your body is not in balance, not healthy, it takes longer for your body to heal properly.  Essential oils can help create an environment of systemic balance so your body can heal properly.  They can be used Aromatically, Topically or Internally.

"Aromatherapy is safe and effective for everyone...It is straightforward and effective in its application, it returns the power of healing back to the individual." Kurt Schnaubelt, Medical Aromatherapy

"Essential oils carry molecules known as sesquiterpenes, which are capable of penetrating the blood-brain barrier.  The molecules carried have a significant oxygenating effect on the brain. The combination of the stimulation from aromatic molecules and the oxygenation of the brain appears to assist the amygdala in supporting the release of emotional blockages."   Christi Turley Diamond and Karisa Tomkinson, AromaHeal 1: Simples Techniques to Support Emotional Healing with Essential Oils

"To reach the individual we need an individual remedy. Each of us is a unique message. It is only the unique remedy that will suffice. We must, therefore, seek odiferous substances which present affinities with the human being we intend to treat, those which will compensate for deficiencies and those which will make faculties blossom."Marguerite Maury, The Secret of Life and Youth
